Video: Spiral Bevel Gear Deburring

The Model 3040-RF integrates a Fanuc 200i robot into a deburring platform capable of accepting spiral bevel gears (see video below) up 42 inches in diameter and pinion gears as small as six inches in diameter.

The grinder is mounted to the robot, while a separate stanchion holds a large flap wheel disc for quick removal of the major burr. After the flap wheel disk operates, the grinder follows, applying a dimensional chamfer on the ID and OD of the part. If needed, the flap wheel tool may be disabled and the grinder used alone to deburr the mating pinion gears.

This machine adapts readily to many types of gear deburring. It accommodates a variety of pneumatic and electric tools.  Part programs can be stored and recalled in minutes, making short-run production efficient and cost-effective.
